Catch the telltale mistakes that make you look like an amateur.
Readers have plenty of reasons to say “pass.” Don’t hand them one you could fix before you hit send.
Get an automated 52-point screenplay check and a scored PDF with the exact passages to revisit and suggested fixes. Built from two decades of professional script proofreading by Trevor Mayes.
EXT. TRAIN PLATFORM - NIGHT
We see a deserted platform.
LEAH waits beneath a broken clock.
Wait, you’re leaving?
You know what you meant.
Will the reader?
In your head, one character cuts the other off mid-sentence. On the page, three dots tell the reader the speaker trails off. An hour passes between scenes, but the next heading says CONTINUOUS. Or an action line says, “The gun is empty.” The reader knows. How will the audience know? Easy things to miss when you already know the story.
Pro Check gives you a fresh read for details like these. Each flagged passage comes back with a note explaining the issue and a suggested fix. You decide what serves the scene before anyone else reads it.

What gets checked?
52 checks cover the details a reader encounters from the title page to the final scene.
Presentation & formatting
Title-page details, margins, spacing and scene headings that tell the reader where and when the action takes place.
Action & description
Character introductions, unnecessary camera directions and action that’s hard to picture on screen.
Dialogue & conventions
Character cues, parentheticals and the punctuation that tells an actor whether a line trails off or gets cut short.
SCRIPTWRECKED
Built from the things
I keep finding.
I’ve spent two decades proofreading screenplays and writing notes for screenwriters. Some of the things I flag come as a surprise. How do you look up a “naked slugline” if you’ve never heard the term?
I built Pro Check around the notes I keep giving writers, including the exceptions. Sometimes two words of screenplay shorthand do the job perfectly.
You only get one
first impression.
Find the avoidable mistakes while they’re still yours to fix.

Is this the same as personal script proofreading?
Pro Check runs Trevor’s checklist automatically. If you want Trevor to read your draft line by line and mark individual corrections, choose his personal proofreading service.
How is this different from asking an AI for feedback?
Ask an AI for feedback and it might give you pages of story notes without ever mentioning that your parentheticals land after the dialogue they’re meant to direct. That’s the sort of detail a professional reader notices and a writer may never think to ask about. Trevor built these checks from two decades of reading scripts. Pro Check uses AI to look for each item, apply Trevor’s exceptions and show you the passage behind each flag.
How long does it take?
Timing varies with the length of your screenplay and the number of findings. The progress screen shows which stage your script is in, from the initial read through excerpt verification and report assembly.
Which file formats can I upload?
For page references and checks that depend on layout, upload a PDF with selectable text. Fountain (.fountain) and Final Draft (.fdx) reports use scene and line references. Scanned PDFs and older Final Draft (.fdr) files are unsupported.
How does the score work?
Your score is the percentage of assessed checks your script passes. Each failed item counts once, however often it appears. Checks that don’t apply or can’t be assessed are left out of the calculation.
Can I check a revised draft?
Yes. Each purchase covers one draft, so a revised draft needs a new check. If processing fails, you can retry that same submission at no extra charge.
What happens to my script?
You keep ownership of your work. We use your script to produce your report. The uploaded file and extracted text expire 14 days after upload. The report, including its quoted excerpts, expires 30 days after completion. Read the privacy policy.
